Chapter 1
How We Met
​
"Fifty dollars and sixty cents," the cashier said, smacking her gum hard like it was her last meal for the day.
She placed her medium-sized Louie Vuitton purse wide open on the counter in front of her. Lori reached into her bag and dug deep into it, then deeper and deeper when she realized she couldn't feel her tan zip-around closure cross-grain leather wallet. Her stiletto-shaped full-set nails moved like Speedy Gonzales through her bag. After thirty seconds of dip-diving in her purse, she exhaled deeply.
"What the hell?" She paused. She stared into her purse. Where the hell could I have left it? "Where is my wallet? I hope I didn't forget it in the dog-gone car," she said to the cashier frantically.
The cashier looked back at her with slanted lips. She still didn't let up on chewing her gum like it was a piece of chicken wing that somebody fried hard with mild sauce.

Shanel WOO is an author born and raised in the Windy City. After high school, she continued on to get her Associates of Art and then her Bachelor of Communication, media arts, and theater, where she used her creative writing to write different scripts for various projects, with the supervision of legendary Herb Kent and Christine Houston.
Shanel Woo is married with two children, Chanel and CJ. She has always been a person with many ideas and spent a lot of her time daydreaming about different scenarios for books and movies. She thinks its time to put her dreaming into action.
